When Kaladin helped Adolin fight in the arena, did Elhokar notice him Surgebinding?
Where is Hoid's Cryptic during Era 2? Did he have to leave it behind?
How many Shards are whole at the time of [Shadows of Self]?
How many Shards are whole at the time of Shadows? I'm just going to RAFO that because-- because I don't want to do math right now.
More than half or less than half?
At the time of Shadows? How many Shards--
Or about half?
Ha! *long pause* *really high and stretched out* Half-ish?
Half-ish. It depends.
Give or take?
Give or take. Like it de-- Are there now only 15? Like what's the number? ...So-- I'm not going to-- I'm not going to--
Could aluminum act as a sort of shield from other forms of Investiture? As in, could an aluminum Misting lashed to something burn aluminum and dispel the Stormlight?
So Sleepless have held Surges. Have they been Radiants before?
Favorite thing Hoid's done?
RAFO, sorta. A lot of his fave things have happened off screen that we're not supposed to know about (yet). Wit is his fave role that we've seen!
Can Breath be taken or withdrawn from a sentient object that's not a person?
I will RAFO that.
I was wondering whether any of the Vessels are blood related?
Aside from the romantic relationship between Honor and Cultivation I'm not sure that we know anything about the relationships that others have with each other within the group of 16, and it would be interesting to know.
I'm saving most of this for Dragonsteel, I'm afraid. So RAFO.
I am subscribed to the, "Doomslug is the hyperdrive," theory. Can you confirm or deny?
I cannot confirm or deny.
Theoretically, what would happen if one were to compound chromium?
As expected, this one is a RAFO.
Do Zahel and Hoid know each other?
Now, I can share the Dawnshard theory I am currently running with, and you can super RAFO it (while also providing a cryptic teasing hint that will frustrate for years?). But before that, thank you for this book. It's not quite Secret History level stuff, but it's fantastic in a very similar way, and I am genuinely happy, and giddy, and also not a small amount of confused :P
But theory. So, I am thinking that the Dawnshards are Commands in the way "Let there be light" is a command, and the four of them are enough to explain everything. If one of them is Change (something into something else), then other plausible options might be Create (something from nothing), some form of Destroy (something into nothing), and... Stasis? Maintain? Remain? something like that.
Super RAFO! Nice theory.
Ooh, another "identity of the Dawnshards" theory, triggered by OP's "Let there be light" comment: I don't suppose the Dawnshards are in any way related to Maxwell's Equations (of which there are four), which govern electromagnetism? I used to have a t-shirt that said "And God said: <Maxwell's Equations>. And there was light," which is what got me thinking.
That's a big old RAFO, but mostly because I'm trying to stay tight lipped on the subject of Dawnshards.
Is the entity now calling itself Trell, was-- is Trell the real Trell that was worshiped by the Trelagists?
If Adonalsium was based and shattered on the cosmere galaxy, what of the rest of the universe? Does it also have Investiture or is Investiture something strictly bound to the cosmere galaxy? Are there even other galaxies on that universe?
I've been RAFOing that particular question--though it only just started popping up, at least with people asking it to me. :)
The ball of Preservation energy that Kelsier used, is that Stamping, Hemalurgy, or a third kind of the same thing?
That is a different thing. You haven't really seen that before.
Because it seems to have similar effects--
Yeah, you haven't seen that before. It was designed to do what it did.
Is it just Connection?
Connection juice. *laughter*
We'll get into this, this is involving Silverlight stuff, so let's RAFO it for now.
Related to Kaladin's abilities and their application to medicine, is a Shard-scalpel possible, or does a Sylblade of any kind have to do the whole burning-eyes deadened-limbs thing that Shardblades do?
(actually, I bet this is going to be addressed in the book, unless my memories of lore are insufficient and this is a silly question that is already answered if I look closely enough.)
It's not a silly question--and while it's not answered in the books, the topic (or at least ones similar to it) is discussed. So I'll RAFO for now.
What would a larkin do on Scadrial around a metal?
A larkin on Sca-- It would have to-- *pause* I'm going to RAFO that. I mean I know what it would do, but let's let you see what larkins can do more.
If a Worldhopper were somehow able to spike themselves with god metals from each shard world e.g. Honor/Cultivation/Odium spike, would it be possible for them to make a miniaturized version of a new shard, or would they just gain powers granted to them by the spikes?
What is the purpose of the gigantic four armed spren that looks at the origin of the Surgestorms?
Good question, haha, RAFO.
Is Kaladin going to get a romance?
RAFO! Kaladin isn't the best with romance. I will take the implicit question, "Will he have a successful romance?" and that's your RAFO.
Could you have a good conversation with Adonalsium, back in the day?
Back in the day? I actually have to RAFO that because I actually haven't said whether Adonalsium was a force or an individual. So it is an excellent question, no one has asked me that before, but it's not one I can answer.
That was a bit of a sneaky one, because it seems like it would be an easy one to answer, but it gives away too much
There has been evidence that Dalinar was able to heal with Stormlight (unintentionally) even before he said his oaths. How is this possible, and if Dalinar was able to do it, why does he have all these crazy scars? We know that Stormlight healing doesn't leave scars.
Dalinar, in one of his visions, sees the stars wink out one by one. Are these the stars of other shardworlds and does this imply that the final Desolation is going to affect more than just Roshar?
You earned yourself a RAFO card!
When you a get a Hemalurgic spike, if you just immediately... tap gold, do you lose the spike, or is the spike already in there and can't get out?
Okay: so hemalurgic spike, tap gold? RAFO.
Does atium have a "side effect", much like how lerasium has a "side effect" in creating Mistborn?
Will Moash worldhop?
Is Soulcasting more efficient if the item you're Soulcasting resembles the item you're trying to make?
Good, no one's asked me that yet. RAFO.
If Nightblood were out of its scabbard and then you hit someone who is wearing a Shardplate, what would happen?
You will find that out in the books eventually, so that's a RAFO.
When are we gonna find out who Luthadel was named after?
The similarity between the shades and the Fused can be due to the Investiture of Odium instead of that of Ambition?
Has Vasher or anyone else learned how to suppress just the Breath Aura, but keep the Heightenings?
Can you store....like if there is a Twinborn, who is a gold Allomancer and a duralumin Ferring, would his goldshadow change based on what his Connection is?
I'm going to RAFO that.
In one of the prologues to the first book, the assassination of Gavilar, mentions--I don't have the characters name--mentions his bodyguard or the head of his bodyguard being one of the greatest swordsmen in the realm, right? And then we get into Words of Radiance, which has such emphasis on duels. I kept waiting for this guy to come in again. I don't know if Szeth killed him in the assassination?
A conscious decision on my part. I'm going to RAFO it, but not for any good reason. Just a little reason, I might make reference to it, I might not.
Two quick questions: Will we find out more about the Surges Division, Cohesion or Tension? We know practically nothing about them!
Could an Elsecaller Transport themselves into the Spiritual Realm? Has anyone tried?
RAFO! (Sorry. I'm not likely to answer questions about the book when we've got it coming so quickly.)
If Kaladin created a kid while he had not summoned Syl in a while. Then he made another kid right after he summoned Syl, would they have different colored eyes?
Wow! I'll RAFO that for now.
So who are the people of the sky?
From Sixth of the Dusk? The Ones Above. That I have not answered yet, but there are lots of good theories online about who it might be. But I'll give you a RAFO card.
Is Adolin going to be an Edgedancer?
That's a RAFO.
Speaking of interfering, if you shot an aluminum bullet through a time bubble, what would happen?
Ooooh, that's a good question. I'm gonna RAFO that one. It's an excellent question.
How many spren does it take to form a full suit of Shardplate?
That's making assumptions that we're gonna RAFO. Nice try!
Are the Svrakiss cognitive shadows?
RAFO. But you expected that.
How was the universe created?
...The cosmere? I'm going to give you a RAFO card.
Will Rig ever fly again?
I can't answer this without going into spoilers... so you'll have to wait and see.
Did Unmade exist in the First Desolation?
Which definition of First Desolation are we using?
...Prior to the Heralds being made?
We'll go RAFO.
Just prior to meeting with the Nightwatcher 5.5 years ago, Dalinar wakes up at the end of a highstorm and seems to have experienced a vision from Stormfather. But in The Way of Kings, Dalinar says that the visions only began "a few months ago." He also seems to have specific memory of the "first" even if he can't recall all of the details, and it seems unlikely he would have visions for several years without anyone having noticed.
So, should we assume that (1) this strange "dream" in Oathbringer was not actually a one of Honor's visions? Is that just a weird dream, or perhaps some OTHER vision from Stormfather?
Or, (2) this is one of Honor's visions and any contradictory details from The Way of Kings are superseded by Oathbringer?
Or, (3) this is one of Honor's visions, and Dalinar just doesn't remember his history of the visions very well.
So, I did this quite intentionally, it's not number two. But I expected these questions to be asked, and it's a RAFO, but it's one of these RAFOs where I wrote it very deliberately the way I did on purpose, and I'm going to leave it to your speculation as to what it means.
Could a shadow from Threnody be manifested as a Shardblade?
Are there any Knights Radiant who broke their oaths in the Recreance that are still around in present day Stormlight time?
Yes. Oh, that broke their oaths. You anticipated me. RAFO.
But there are still ones around who haven't?
Yes, Nale. That's my loophole there. That's who I was thinking of. But you said that did break their oaths, so you anticipated me on that one.
I've had this question burning deep inside me since I finished RoW, is there a truest Surge of Odium? My headcanon for now is Transportation.
Hey! So, I'll deal with this eventually in the books, so it's a RAFO for now! But do keep in mind that the Surges on Roshar, as they're understood now, are mostly Honor/Cultivation.
What does "Aagal" mean and do Aagal Uch and Aagal Nod ever come in to the Mistborn plot?
