Will we see Hoid's Lightweaver Truths?
RAFO. Unlikely, but RAFO. Possible
What does Taravangian, as the Vessel of Odium, think of Autonomy?
I will RAFO this, because it's going to be relevant.
The Expanse of Vibrance… Nalthis?
*more grunting* You would be making a good guess, if you said that.
Is Tien's spren still around, or are they recovering like Syl did after her prior Radiant's death?
We'll RAFO that for now. Tien's spren is not going to be a deadeye. Tien didn't break his oaths, Tien was killed. So we'll RAFO what's up with his spren for now. But you can rest assured that it's not any of that.
Can Hoid safely have an MRI?
Why do you ask that?
Because if you have metal inside your body, and you have an MRI, which is magnetic, it's very bad for you.
You're just assuming that... That's a very clever way to try to get around a question that I have not answered and intentionally said I am not going to answer, so...
Also, tattoos. You can't have a tattoo with an MRI. The ink has little bits of metal in it.
You can't? Well, I assume there are tattoo inks that are not little bits of metal.
That's true.
During the perpendicularity scene in Oathbringer is it safe to say that what Dalinar did is akin to super powered versions of his surges? Tension to make the realms ductile and formable, adhesion to bring them together. I know the specific ability is unique to Dalinar but I'm fairly attached to this rationalization
I wouldn't immediately shoot down this particular theory.
Why do they ride horses, and not like fast insects of some sort?
That is an excellent question. That I'm not going to answer.
Can spren be affected by emotional Allomancy?
That's a RAFO.
In Shadows... did we see a Shardpool? And was it Harmony’s or some other mysterious god who...
So where do you think it is in Shadows?
In one of the newspaper articles.
I am RAFOing that, the whole newspaper article. So the newspaper articles, who knows what’s going on in them. They're tabloid-ish so maybe, maybe--
Is Cultivation's Investiture distributed by the crem cycle?
RAFO.
Where in Roshar do Ryshadiums come from?
That's a RAFO. I will answer it soon.
Will we find out in Stormlight 3?
Yeah.
Has Vasher or anyone else learned how to suppress just the Breath Aura, but keep the Heightenings?
RAFO.
The Mistborn Era Three is going to be set in like present day. Are there going to be like Coinshots doing ear piercings and like carpenter work and y'know...
You'll just have to see.
If Allomancy works once the planet is left, does that mean that the FTL travel will have the vessels carrying a portable Shard? How will the energy of that Shard affect things where they travel to?
You're just going to have to get a real RAFO on that one, 'cause that book is a long ways away.
Has Kelsier ever physically been on Sel?
RAFO!
In one of the prologues to the first book, the assassination of Gavilar, mentions--I don't have the characters name--mentions his bodyguard or the head of his bodyguard being one of the greatest swordsmen in the realm, right? And then we get into Words of Radiance, which has such emphasis on duels. I kept waiting for this guy to come in again. I don't know if Szeth killed him in the assassination?
A conscious decision on my part. I'm going to RAFO it, but not for any good reason. Just a little reason, I might make reference to it, I might not.
After the first Everstorm, what form did the parshmen gain?
You want me to name that form? I'm not gonna name that on stream; I've got it written down somewhere, but let's not canonize that yet, so that's a RAFO. It's a good question. It goes on that list of things that I should canonize, like what Dalinar's name means, and some of these other things that are on the list of "would be really nice if the wikis could actually have a word for this." We'll put that on Karen's list to make sure she grabs out of my notes and canonize.
Will Vivenna, Vasher and Nightblood reunite?
RAFO
Have we seen a Svrakiss in a book so far?
Um... RAFO
Can you tell us anything about Svrakiss, like are they originally from Sel?
Um... I'm not going to go into that.
Is Aslydin a Feruchemist?
Uhhhhhoooooh. RAFO. We’ll just RAFO that.
Is the God Beyond related to “the Beyond” place that was talked about?
RAFO.
Who's telling "Unite Them" to Dalinar because it's obviously not Stormfather nor Honor because he's hearing it even outside of the visions, right?
He is hearing that, that is a RAFO. You can have a RAFO card.
Here's my theory, and I want to get it down here so when it turns out to be right I can say "See I called it!"
Dalinar becomes the new Honor, Lift becomes the new Cultivation. Why? Cultivation touched three people, Dalinar, Taravangian and Lift. She planned for Taravangian to become the new Odium, so I figure the other two are the new Honor and her eventual successor Cultivation. At least this is Cultivation's plan, even if that's not exactly how it ends up happening.
RAFO indeed.
If Tien got far enough to swear an oath, what happened to his Cryptic? Elohkar's was stuck on our side and he didn't even finish his oath, was Tien's stuck on our side?
RAFO, I'm afraid.
Have any other Shards been combined, like Harmony was combined?
That’s also a RAFO.
Does atium have a "side effect", much like how lerasium has a "side effect" in creating Mistborn?
RAFO.
[Is it completely impossible for Allomantic Steel/Iron users to Push/Pull on Aluminum or just very difficult, and a more powerful Allomancer (like TLR or using the Bands of Mourning) could do it?]
Excellent question. I’m glad you’re arguing about that.
What would happen if an Elantrian burned or flared aluminium? Would they become Reod or a normal person? Or something else?
Like if they got Allomantic powers?
Yeah, like a lerasium [bead] or something.
Okay, yeah, I'm gonna say RAFO, I knew this one was coming.
Is Lift capable of touching other spren?
I'll RAFO that for now. I could wiggle out of that one easily, but I won't. I'll not answer the question you're asking, rather than the one you're not asking.
The Oathgate fabrial has an opening for a living Shardblade to make it functionable. Does this mean the opening is made from a spren?
You will find more about this in a future book.
When we have an unkeyed metalmind and then we also store a keyed charge in it, which one would get tapped first?
I'll RAFO that.
Do Idrians Return with a "purpose" they can reasonably complete in a week? From the book and annotations, purposes that we saw tended to be long-term goals. Does Endowment realize this, and only send back Idrians with tasks that can reasonably be accomplished in their shorter lifespans?
This is somewhat RAFO territory. (Sorry.)
How many Horneater peaks are there? Or is it irrelevant?
It's not irrelevant. You will find that out in one of the books. I’m not going to canonize that yet. Because the honest truth is, I'm wavering on how exactly I want that to look. So that's the "I don't want to canonize it yet" RAFO.
If you had a spanreed, and you took one half into Shadesmar, would it still be able to write with the conjoined one in the Physical Realm?
RAFO.
Why were seons unaffected by the Reod?
They were.
They were? How?
RAFO.
How old is Taravangian?
Taravangian is in his 80's, I believe. He is not immortal, he has not lived an extra long time. He might be 70's local time.
How many kids does he have? If he has all these granddaughters running around.
He has a number of children, but I have not defined it.
Were they all with the same wife?
No. That, I have defined.
Were they all by a wife?
A better question. RAFO.
Was he as much of a stud as Spook?
RAFO.
Is it possible to worldhop from/through Patji's Eye? If yes, could a naturally Invested creature like a nightmaw worldhop?
Worldhopping is hard if you are not sapient--but yes, it happens.
As for Patji's Eye, RAFO.
Can Nightblood be Soothed or Rioted? Or influenced by Nergaoul or Ashertmarn, for that case?
RAFO!
What metal is the lynchpin spike made of?
RAFO.
In the past we deeply discussed the mechanism with which Breaths are decided to be doled out or endowed on Nalthis. And you said that there is an intellect that is doling them out, but that their intentions or that their goals are difficult to predict or nonstandard. And my question is: are they nonstandard because the base Vessel behind them does not have, at its core, a standard human psychology?
RAFO! Good question. Excellent question. RAFO, I like the way you're theorizing. I have said before, that there are multiple nonhuman Vessels in the Cosmere. So, your theorizing perhaps is going to bear fruit.
Did someone say "chulls"? No, it's not the chulls. There are no chulls that are holding Shards in the Cosmere.
Did Mercy originally settle on Threnody?
RAFO!
Related to Kaladin's abilities and their application to medicine, is a Shard-scalpel possible, or does a Sylblade of any kind have to do the whole burning-eyes deadened-limbs thing that Shardblades do?
(actually, I bet this is going to be addressed in the book, unless my memories of lore are insufficient and this is a silly question that is already answered if I look closely enough.)
It's not a silly question--and while it's not answered in the books, the topic (or at least ones similar to it) is discussed. So I'll RAFO for now.
They are not native to Roshar and yet they fit among the Rosharan cremlings so perfectly... So was Rosharan fauna based off of another planet? Or are the crab species on Roshar invasive and from wherever the Sleepless are from? Or are only Rosharan sSleepless made up of crabs because they melded with the local species? Or do living things in the Cosmere evolve into crabs alarmingly often just like in our universe and its a coincidence?
The ones on other planets will look less like cremlings. Realize that a swarm is always evolving. The first swarm's hordelings were more spider-like when it first came to Roshar.
The theme of generations is also a thing we see with the Kandra, who can also disguise themselves. Were the Kandra perhaps modeled after the Sleepless? Or is there any relation at all between the two?
No direct relationship here.
Was Aimia originally terraformed to be more like their home ecosystem (just like how Shinovar is like the human home ecosystem)?
RAFO!
Was aluminum used in the Shattering of Adonalsium in any way?
RAFO
How many Shards are whole at the time of [Shadows of Self]?
How many Shards are whole at the time of Shadows? I'm just going to RAFO that because-- because I don't want to do math right now.
More than half or less than half?
At the time of Shadows? How many Shards--
Or about half?
Ha! *long pause* *really high and stretched out* Half-ish?
Half-ish?
Half-ish. It depends.
Give or take?
Give or take. Like it de-- Are there now only 15? Like what's the number? ...So-- I'm not going to-- I'm not going to--
RAFO.
Yeah, RAFO.
So, Renarin. Is there anything special about him, like regarding him being able to see the future, or, like, Rock not being able to see his spren? So he's different than other Truthwatchers?
Read [Oathbringer]. Then come back and ask.
What if you had a Twinborn who had atium for both and he burned atium that was stored?
So, I'll RAFO that. I believe I've RAFO'd that in the past so I'll RAFO it again.
Do you plan on having any more mistborns in the Wax & Wayne series?
Read and Find Out.
Is Yesteel on Roshar right now?
That is a RAFO.
What would happen if you burned an Awakened metal?
I'll RAFO that for now. It's very, very rare in the cosmere. Something interesting would happen. We'll RAFO that.
