Opening a perpendicularity. Is that a Bondsmith power or just something special Dalinar did for other reasons?
Brandon Sanderson
Yeah, we will RAFO that.

Opening a perpendicularity. Is that a Bondsmith power or just something special Dalinar did for other reasons?
Yeah, we will RAFO that.
Would Wax recognize the female Skybreaker Lift sees in Edgedancer?
RAFO.
So, at the end of [Oathbringer], a certain Shard says "we killed you." Is "you" Adonalsium there? Or is that a [RAFO]?
That's a big RAFO!
Is there a specific reason as to why Hoid cannot Skip, but Nomad can?
Yes, there is a specific reason for that. I'll get into it someday. Let's just say the Skipping started because of a certain event, that probably I won't write a book to talk about, but you will get an answer to that someday I hope. So it's a RAFO, but a RAFO with a little bit of a promise.
So if you spiked a Soulbearer...
A what?
The nicrosil Ferring.
Okay.
And he stored the ability he got from the spike what happens to the charge in it.
In the spike if he stores the ability?
Yeah, in the spike.
RAFO.
Matrim Cauthon, Kelsier, and Vasher all decide they need to get together and run a heist on Hoid. How do they do it? Why? And what are they looking for? Assuming they know where his "hideout" is...
Mat has to be persuaded. He doesn't think this is worth it. Once he knows about Fortune, he'd be interested.
Kelsier wants to beat him to a pulp.
Vasher is very utilitarian about it, and agrees that having access to him would be smart, but dangerous.
When Hoid is talking to Dalinar he seems to expect that Dalinar may have heard of Adonalsium.
Adonalsium. Yes.
Why is that? Why would he think that Dalinar would have knowledge about that?
He thought that Dalinar was part of some of the secret societies on Roshar, and he had thought his way into thinking Dalinar was part of them and that was how Dalinar was knowing certain things he was knowing. Which he really wasn't, he was getting from the storms and things like this, but he thought that Gavilar had confided things in Dalinar and that Dalinar would know more about this. And so he was kind of testing to see, and he was wrong.
Ok. Is Kaladin going to meet up with Jost again?
RAFO.
Would Moash have the potential to become a Dustbringer?
That's a RAFO, I'm afraid.
Is Hoid in Shadows for Silence?
He is not. I intentionally didn't put him in... I wanted to indicate that he goes where there is an important reason for him to be there rather than just being a cameo in every story.
When will we see a book that basically revolves around the concept of the Cosmere and the shard-travelers? Basically, a book revolving around people like Hoid who can jump from shard to shard.
Third Mistborn Trilogy involves a lot of this. I MIGHT do some parallel stories showing more of what Hoid has been up to. He is a primary viewpoint protagonist of Dragonsteel, but that happens before all of the other books.
Can you tell me which Hemalurgic spike transfers temporal Allomancy?
No, I cannot. Well, I could, but I'm not going to.
What does the Cognitive Realm of Sel look like?
RAFO!
Will Hoid be a major player in all, most, or only some of these books?
He should have as large a role in other books as he had in this one, for the most part.
You told someone that Nan Balat likes to hurt things. Like, a supernatural tendency to hurt things.
It's more along the lines of, "He has suffered some...enhancement of a psychological issue through supernatural effects."
It's not an Unmade thing?
RAFO! Good question! That's basically a confirmation, isn't it? *teasing laugh*
Rayse went after Dalinar and then Kaladin for his champion, strong fighters who would have dealt a massive emotional blow, how likely is Taravangian to use the same approach?
RAFO
How many Allomantic metals are there? Does each god have their own set of sixteen and does harmony have his own set of sixteen?
That is a big ol' RAFO.
So we know that aluminum resists Investiture or blocks Investiture in some cases. Does it act like radiation protection like lead or something that actually gets deteriorated while it's resisting something or is it like, does it just interfere?
RAFO, good question.
You mention Adonalsium as a being, and that they were split. Where one supposedly supreme being exists, are there others?
That's a RAFO.
Do Knights Radiants live longer than regular people?
You'll have to read and find out.
Dalinar walks away with a gemstone. Was Yelig-nar taken as well?
RAFO. I will get to Yelig-nar.
Also, what is going on in this chart? Is it all RAFO, or can you hint at anything?
https://www.brandonsanderson.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/twok_endsheet-rear-2-webres.jpg
That's...I'm sorry, that's a RAFO. But thank you for reading! Answers are coming.
Was Hoid trying to become an Elantrian kind of in a way how Kelsier was able to connect to Preservation to take up the Shard?
Yes, the thing about it is you're getting Hoid before he knew as much as he did in Scadrial era, so what he was trying to do was completely ineffective and it couldn't have worked.
Doesn't it get weaker the farther away you are, so it wouldn't help at all.
Mhm.
Well we have an example of an Elantrian on Roshar, so.
Yes we have an Elantrian on Roshar, but we don't see him use any powers, and his skin is dark on Roshar rather than glowing, granted that could be a disguise. That is something to be aware of.
Hey Brandon! If you're still answering these...what would happen if a Surgebinder absorbed Voidlight? (Or whatever's powering the Everstorm)
RAFO. (Sorry.)
Is Voidlight a good name for it? We've been playing with the words "void" and "odium", stitching them together into Voidlight, Voids (as opposed to Surges), Voidspren, Odiumspren, etc. Are any of those accurate?
It may not be accurate, but it is a valid conjecture. Afraid I won't say more right now.
...the giant South American glyphs.
Yeah that is super RAFO.
In Secret History, Fuzz mentions having buried something. That's the atium, right?
RAFO.
So, I was just thinking, if it's something of greater import, I'll just leave it to that it's not the atium. But it's something else, I think. But, I was just thinking, if he wanted to hide something, he could build a planet around it? Because he built a planet. I'm guessing, if I asked a question about that...
You would get RAFOd. Excellent question.
If Kaladin created a kid while he had not summoned Syl in a while. Then he made another kid right after he summoned Syl, would they have different colored eyes?
Wow! I'll RAFO that for now.
Something I've recently been wondering about is how responsive is Sazed to people in the Cognitive Realm flagging him down for a conversation. Let's say Khriss, during one of her trips between Scadrial and Silverlight just shouts "Yo Harmony, do you have time to chat?", how would he respond?
RAFO on this one. :)
I've heard somewhere that you already have a backstory for Hoid written, but you're waiting to release it as it would reveal too much about the Cosmere universe... is this true?
Yes, this is true.
Do you ever plan on bringing different realms together?
Yes I do.
Is Wit still capable of producing children, given his situation?
He...*thinks for a long time* What do I wanna say? I will say RAFO. I'll say RAFO. This is one of the RAFOs where I absolutely know the answer, and I'm not going to give it to you yet.
Is there anything Hoid was scared of? And if so, is it still around, and regardless, was it a person...
There are many things that Hoid is scared of. He is really scared of Odium, but there are others.
Would a Returned who bonded an Honorblade have their eye color change when they summon it?
That's a RAFO! (More because I don't have my notes handy than anything else, though.)
Szeth wasn't actually Truthless. Would his experience be difference if he were?
I'll RAFO that for now. I'll dig into that pretty deeply in book 5. After book 5's out, there will still be questions but I might be able to answer them.
Would giving a Lifeless a pair of Kandra Blessings make it more intelligent? Similarly, could Blessings make a Parshman more parshendi-like?
RAFO.
And is Hoid now, like he can already basically Lightweave...
He can already-- I will have to delve into that during Hoid timed, but he was limited, and he's still limited. But there's stuff that he's been trying to do for a while that he can't quite get working.
'Cause it seemed like when he and Shallan were creating that story together of the wall--
Right, he was using her power, right? And guiding it, he wasn't doing it himself.
Is that something he can do in general, just help people with their powers?
Not necessarily. That was pretty special circumstances.
And we changed Hoid's appearance, in the White Sand.
I couldn't even find him.
He's just, as I remember it--it's been a long time--I think he's just one of the cases Ais mentions talking about.
Oh yeah, he's in the letter, no that’s someone else.
No he's just one of the people Ais' been chasing. There's just this one case that is mysterious to him. Like remember a lot of the early Hoid things were really obscure mentions.
Is Vax a good place to get vaccines?
*laughs* The place where Vax would be is not at a place where vaccines have been developed.
Is the chain in Celebrant made of Dragonsteel?
RAFO!
What would happen to someone who burned an alloy of Lerasium and lead? Would they a) gain Mistborn powers and a splitting headache from trying to burn lead, b) gain Mistborn powers and no splitting headache, c) just get the splitting headache, d) gain the ability to burn lead without a splitting headache, or e) die of lead poisoning?
This is a RAFO, not because I want to imply that lead has some big secret to it, but because I don't want to dig into the mechanics of Lerasium right now--and I don't want to kick off more questions like this at the moment.
If a lerasium spike is used to steal a trait--
You're straying way into RAFO territory here.
Will the recipient of the spike gain anything other than the ability stolen?
I'm not going anywhere near this one. This one’s a RAFO.
Was Bavadin nonhuman?
RAFO. There is at least one Shard who wasn't human, but I'm not ready to reveal who was or wasn't just yet.
Can you give us any information on Rall Elorim?
Uhhhm, no other than its called City of Shadows for a reason.
I was asking about the diets of the Shin, Stone Shamanism, because Szeth in one of the interludes talks about the stone walkers, being able to eat food on any day of the week, so I was wondering what that actually referred to.
RAFO.
I've heard it is possible to be a Radiant of two orders - it would depend on spren and ideals, and may be difficult to handle, but is theoretically possible. How about being a Willshaper and an Edgedancer at the same time? Could that work?
I'll have to RAFO that, I'm afraid.
Is Adolin going to be an Edgedancer?
That's a RAFO.
Is Azure Returned?
Azure is Vivenna. And RAFO.
Is the entity now calling itself Trell, was-- is Trell the real Trell that was worshiped by the Trelagists?
RAFO.
Is Endowment linked to the ocean in Warbreaker?
RAFO.
How would Nightblood react to Hoid?
Nightblood would probably try to be very friendly to Hoid, and then-- But Nightblood tries to be friendly to everybody. He's a very friendly, uh, demonic terrible sword that sucks your soul.
If this is all but a guaranteed RAFO question, but, does the fact that the honorblades needing ten heart beats to appear have to do with Szeth's perception on shardblades needing ten heartbeats (like Shallan's case). Or does it have to do with some more innate rule of nature.
It is a RAFO.
